One step at a time

A line I've been using a lot lately is, "clichés are a thing because they're true." Particularly regarding clichés like "taking it one day at a time": when facing adversity, it's rarely possible to establish a new routine, find a rhythm, or plan for the future. You can wait. Do the next thing. Sometimes, figure out the one problem in front of you.

So we have been learning to live one step at a time the last few months. Today, we check off a couple more steps: Liz is having a procedure to put in a port-a-cath for the IV chemotherapy infusions right now (writing this from the hospital). And we scheduled the first infusion treatment, for next Tuesday morning December 17th.

Now that this has been scheduled, we can start filling in more "needs" on this platform around that date sometime in the next couple of days. Thank you all for the continued, overwhelming love and care for my sweet wife and our family. I'm so grateful.

It was encouraging to sing How Firm A Foundation with our church family on Sunday:
How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
