On September 3, 2024 Liz was diagnosed with rectal cancer. After experiencing some mild symptoms, she went in for a precautionary colonoscopy, and was shocked to be told a malignant mass was found. After many prayers, tears, and hugs from our amazing community the tests revealed that the cancer was caught at stage 1. Praise God! 

A lower anterior resection surgery is scheduled for October 15th at 9:30am at St. Vincent's Hospital. Our current understanding is that Liz will be in surgery for 4-5 hours, hospitalized for 2-3 days, and recovering for 2-4 weeks. Please pray for Dr. Jeffrey Manchio as he operates, for all those assisting, for the family, and for Liz. 

Though we are shaken, we are trusting God and resting our hopes on his faithfulness.
