Ethan, our Superman!
Hi everyone,
We just want to thank all of you for the texts, phone calls, messages, gift cards, handmade cards, many many gifts for Ethan and so much love and support! We really have the best friends and fam and grateful for everything you have done to help us get through this.
Ethan is currently in a sedated MRI and Echo and we are waiting for him to finish up and then come out of anesthesia. He had to fast today and if you know Ethan, you know he is hungry every 5 minutes, so it was tough, but he really did great (and only mentioned he was hungry like 5 times).
You would be so proud of how well he has been handling all of this over the past few days and thankfully has been happy as a clam and a good patient! He's been so brave and making friends with all the nurses. We even managed to have some fun yesterday eating our way through Quincy Market, a Duck Tour and Ethan got to drive, a Merry Go Round ride, and the largest ice cream cone you have ever seen.
We met with the surgeon, Dr. Del Nido this morning and surgery is scheduled for 8:30 am tomorrow morning and we will arrive by 7:30. The estimated surgery time is 5-6 hours (including prep and post op), but won't know for sure until tomorrow. The plan as of now is to resect the tissue under the aortic valve and possibly remove some muscle that may be causing the tissue to grow back. They will let us know later tonight if anything changes once they review the MRI.
We will update again tomorrow once he is out of surgery and please keep sending all the positive vibes and distractions.
xoxo
