It's been a few weeks since our last updates, so here we go. Our family got to celebrate both Christmas and new years at home as a family. We were blessed beyond belief by organization making sure our family had an amazing Christmas. Willow has now completed 3 rounds of high dose methotrexate chemo. This last round started to really bring her down. With in a few hours of starting the chemo her arms, face and neck turned bright red. Over the next 48 it got worse and became very hot. Think of this like the worst sunburn you've ever had, but thankfully she's not in pain. Her team monitored this and kept her an extra day to give her an additional does of a drug that helps her body clear out the chemo. We are 1 week post chemo and her skin is now pealing, she's itchy but thankfully no pain. She goes back in on the 20th for her last dose, and we are crossing our fingers and praying she stays pain free. Over the last week she has stoped eating unless it's steak or garlic bread, so our grocery bill is high this month. I think her sister Wren is very ok with the steak lunches (and sometimes dinners). Other than that we are hanging out inside, keeping life calm and continuing as normal.
With love and prayers the Mannings

Hang in there ! Sounds like overall Willow is doing well. I’m glad she is eating. Do any of the groceries discount there beef when it is getting to the last day of sale! The Meijers here and Aldis do. I stock up when I get steak at 35-60% off. Keeping you all in my prayers

Praying for Willow and her family. I had cellulitis which has the same symptoms like Willow having a sunburn from the inside of your body coming out on my leg. I used Watkins Burn cream/salve to prevent blisters and scarring applying 2x daily. Infectious Disease Dr was impressed with my results as he recommended Udder Cream. Keep her skin moisturized to minimize scaring. Sending love ...
