Gestational age: 39 weeks, 5 days
Day of life: 104
Beckett: 6lb
Juliette: 7lb, 11oz
This past week has been a pretty boring one, which we are very thankful for! Beckett started getting milk again last Sunday and has been going up on feeds every day since. He has been tolerating it really well, and his incision has been looking better each day! One of Beckett’s eyes got a little worse this past week, but his doctors attributed it to inflammation from surgery and had expected that it might get worse before it eventually gets better. He will also be on the list to get moved over to the Children’s Hospital NICU when his breathing is in good enough shape, so we’ll look forward to that.
Juliette had her repeat echo on Friday since she started her stronger diuretic, and the results were good enough to set a discharge date for next week! This little girl is busting out of the hospital (and then going straight back into the hospital to hang out in Beckett’s room)! We have been very excited and also very nervous about this big change, but future us has always been capable of figuring things out, so we’ll be okay.
Our situation won’t change much with Juliette’s discharge. We’ll continue living at the Ronald McDonald House, now with Juliette. We’ll continue coming to the hospital everyday, but with all four of us in Beckett’s room. We’re looking forward to being together all day. We are planning on going home this weekend to get some nursery stuff put together. We won’t need it for a while, but it will be nice to have the house a little more prepared for our eventual trip home.
