The James Family
Please see the note below from Tami and join me in keeping the James Family in your prayers. I will be adding some meal support options in the coming days if you're able to help. Thanks!
Hi everyone!
I hope you are all having a wonderful July. Our family was able to get away last week and spend some time in Bethany Beach. We got to stay at a beautiful condo in Sea Colony, and it was a truly wonderful, restful trip. Poor Mom Mom came down with a miserable summer cold and couldn’t join us, but we felt so grateful for the time we had together.
Unfortunately, though, I received some tough news while we were away.
Life has a funny way of keeping us on our toes, and there have been so many ups and downs through this crazy cancer journey. We were waiting on one last test result, and unfortunately, the numbers were too high. The test showed some of the cancer characteristics were aggressive and could return elsewhere without doing anything, so chemotherapy is back on the table.
I am getting a port placed this Tuesday, and my first treatment is scheduled for July 28. I’ll be doing four rounds of chemo, once every 21 days—and from what I understand, it’s going to be a doozy! Yep… that also means I’m going to lose my hair. Boo. On the bright side, my Halloween costume this year is going to be absolutely epic!
It's not exactly the summer makeover I had in mind! 😊 But if you know me, you also know I’m determined to find the joy (and probably a little humor) wherever I can. The kids have already started making the best of it, and I have a feeling there may be some fun hats, scarves, and styling sessions in our near future. At the same time, there is also a lot of fear, anxiety, and anger right now. It has been a really hard and scary week, and we've had very little time to wrap our heads around all of this. Barry, the kids, Mom Mom, and I are all just figuring it out together day by day.
Here is what I do know: I’m all in. I’m going to fight this with everything I’ve got. And I also know that I don’t have to do it alone.
Thank you all for loving and supporting our family through this, but more than anything, I ask that you please keep praying and sending your love. Pray for healing, for strength, for my doctors, and for my family. I truly believe those prayers matter, and I have felt the strength of every single one.
Thank you for being our village. I wouldn’t choose this journey, but if I have to walk it, I am incredibly thankful to have all of you walking right beside me.
Love you all, Tami
