Today was a big milestone, after 147 days, Dad finally got to come home. Yesterday, November 12th, while at Encompass Rehab, he received the Travis Award, which is given to the patient who has made the most progress during their time in rehab. We are so proud of him and how hard he continues to fight. 

 

Even with this incredible progress, Dad still has a long road ahead. He isn’t able to walk independently yet and can only manage about 35 feet with the walker. He’ll have home health, wound care, and PT/OT coming weekly, and he’ll continue to go to dialysis every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, transported by ambulance. 

 

While we are absolutely thrilled to have him home, we know this next phase will require strength, patience, and continued support. We’ll keep being his biggest cheerleaders as he works toward getting stronger and back to being our dad. 
 

Thank you again for every prayer, message, donation, and act of love. We feel it every single day. Please keep the prayers coming,  God has big plans for Dad, and we’re trusting Him every step of the way.
