Sky will be heading into the hospital in around one hour with Poppy. She’ll have her blood counts checked (everything is expected to be fine so we can proceed) and then have prep for the op to extract the bone marrow. Op is planned for 11am and then she will move to recovery afterwards. It will be the same waiting period as last time to get the results as it has to be sent to a lab in Seattle to be tested so we should have the results by the end of this week. Please pray for Grace and strength for us all whatever the test result.

After recovery Sky will be admitted as in-patient and move up to the same blood cancer ward that she was in after diagnosis/when we had to return to the hospital shortly after we were originally sent home. This is to start the next phase with the new targeted drug called BLINA. We will need to stay in the hospital for at least 3 days whilst Sky is monitored as whilst this drug is usually one of the ones that kids feel best receiving there is a risk for some kids of experiencing seizures. Whatever the MRD test result comes back with, we will be completing BLINA so please pray for a smooth journey through this treatment phase which will last one month. 

During the BLINA phase Sky will be connected to a backpack containing the drug at all times as it is given via her port at a very slow rate all month long. We’re a little concerned with how she will sleep with it.
