We're now halfway through interim maintenance with two hospital admissions complete. Sky has done brilliantly on both admissions, and been able to be home much quicker than planned.
We have had one delay to the schedule and Sky's next admission is this coming Friday. We have been told to stop her daily oral chemo (Mercaptopurine) at home as her blood counts are low right now and she is struggling with mouth sores as a result of it. This is to give her mouth some time to recover and also to help her to make the minimum counts necessary to be admitted on Friday (She needs a minimum absolute neutrophil count of 750 or higher, and right now she is at 400).
Sky's skin is very sensitive in this phase as a result of the Methotrexate and she's been struggling with a rash but that has cleared up over the last few days also. We're about to spend a few nights away, which will be a nice short break and the boys are excited to visit an old aircraft carrier whilst we are there. Elijah is especially excited to "finally get a hotel breakfast." Apparently he's been waiting ages for the event.
So after Elijah has his belly full of hotel breakfast and he and Nathan have stormed a retired US Navy carrier then it will be back to reality and the next hospital admission (in God's timing).
All our love
