Post Abdominal Catheter Procedure
The procedure went well. Caleb is becoming a calm, veteran patient.  The recovery has been significantly less exhausting than the paracentesis a couple weeks ago. There are no signs of infection. About 4 inches to the right of his navel Caleb now has a 12 inch tube protruding from his tummy. He seems to have accepted it without concern. It is currently under a bandage covered with a wrap. We drain some fluid daily. Caleb is very relaxed when we are draining the fluid.  From April 10th-12th 7.3 liters have been removed from his abdomen.

On another note, we are in a much better place with his pain management. He has been given a slow release patch that allows for 7 days of relief. We only have to get him supplemental pain relief if he is active.

Between the changes in abdominal fluid management and the pain management Caleb is able to eat and drink a little more and go longer between bathrooming. As a result we are all starting to sleep longer and better.

Family News
In an effort to support Logan’s school schedule he has moved in with Rene’s parents who live a few minutes away. It’s nice he is so close as we can easily spend a few evenings each week as a family. Logan has taken Amigo (our terrier) with him.

Upcoming Appointment
We have an appointment this Wednesday with the oncologist to learn about Caleb’s diagnosis and options for next steps.

Prayer Requests
Please pray that Caleb is able to eat a bit more and keep up his strength. Furthermore we hope to have many more questions answered at the oncology appointment Wednesday.

Thank You!
Our continuing thanks to all who are praying and supporting us through this. We could not have hoped for this procedure to go any better or for Caleb to accept and respond so well to all the changes!
