The Gurbal Fam
We are now 2 days post dilation.
It was our hope that the dilation would buy us some time (days/week(s)) and maybe allow us to feed him from a bottle, go home, etc..
Less than 12 hours after surgery it was already apparent that the dilation was NOT going to buy us time and his airway was reconstricted much quicker than last time. One of our viable options was frequent dilations, which now looks like a non-option since the dilation wasn’t very helpful anymore.
We’re adjusting his meds and feeds to help eliminate any agitation from hunger and reduce swelling in his airway. He is breathing easy today after having to be increased back to high flow oxygen last night.
For today- we will let him rest and wait and see if the new meds move us in the right direction.
