The Gurbal Fam
After a JOYOUS 3 weeks at home, we find ourselves prepping for John’s 7th surgery.
We’ve worked hard to maintain and optimize him at home, which became increasingly difficult, to a point in recent days where he was unable to eat enough to stay hydrated. His breathing became so compromised that he showed zero interest in eating and his urine output was minimal.
ENT scoped him this morning and it seems that his right nostril (his historically “good” nostril) has a large amount of growth that’s reoccluded a large portion of his airway. The doctor isn’t sure exactly what it is (tissue, bone, etc..) but they will be taking him to the OR tomorrow to cut all that away and clean things out. We’re not exactly sure what the treatment/plan will be after surgery to help reduce swelling and inflammation, since this is dependent on exactly what they see when they get in there.
We’re waiting for an official OR time but it will be morning/afternoon. This surgery is necessary for his recovery and, as always, we pray for a positive outcome. Just like the rest of his surgeries, he will require general anesthesia again.
Please pray for our boy and his medical team. 🩵
