HYSTERECTOMY UPDATE ❤️
Surgery is behind me, and I'm officially on the road to recovery!
My pathology results came back, and they found residual atypical cells suspicious for high-grade precancerous changes (HSIL) still present in my cervix. No invasive cancer was identified in the hysterectomy specimen, but knowing those abnormal cells were still there reinforces just how important my decision to have surgery was. Left untreated, these changes can potentially progress to invasive cancer.
This entire experience has been incredibly humbling. I'm not someone who sits still for long, and being forced to slow down, accept help, and allow myself time to heal has been an adjustment in itself.
I'm grateful I trusted my instincts, advocated for myself, and followed through.
Thank you to everyone who has checked on me, prayed for me, and supported me along the way. Please don't skip your screenings, ignore abnormal results, or be afraid to advocate for your health.
Here's to healing, new beginnings, and officially retiring that uterus. She had a good run. 😂❤️
