DEEP GRATITUDE & Our First Update

WOW!!! To wake up to this beautiful outpouring of love is nothing short of miraculous. I read some of the comments to Damon and the smile on his face was priceless. We are beyond grateful to and for each of you. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. 
The last seven days have been the most difficult of our lives and also the most beautifully revealing about love, strength, friendship, family, and community. 

Thank you for being here and for supporting this part of our journey. 

As of today, Damon is still in the Progressive Care Unit receiving intensive around-the-clock care. His sodium & sugar levels are being managed by IV drip, he body temp is being sustained by what they call the "Bear Hugger" machine, and he is in line to receive a temporary feeding tube so that he can get some nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and protein into his body. 

We have heard from the internal medicine doctor that Damon does in fact have cancer based on the biopsy. Now, we just need to hear what stage, what type, and what plan can be in place. 

I am maintaining. And I'm not gonna lie, its A LOT. The days are filled with more decisions, questions, information, and conversations than I care to count. Your calls and text messages are well received and keeping me from totally loosing my mind. Please know that if I do not respond to them immediately, you must not take it personally. I will respond but it may take a few days. 

Based on what we are learning each day, we have a bit of a journey ahead of us. Thank you for standing with us, for all the love offerings, and for all the kind and encouraging words.
