Last month, both of our cars were in the shop and had significant repairs. One - after several hundred dollars in diagnostics, had a full engine replacement (covered under warranty). The van is showing its age and needs several major maintenance options, which we try to address in manageable increments. We know these are the normal costs of car ownership, but they come at a time when we are depleting all our reserves.
