Greyson continues to do well. He is making tiny steps in the right direction. They are going to continue weaning the ventilator today. They want to see him assist in taking breaths before they take him all the way off so they are going to try to wean down on the sedation and try to get him to assist in his breathing. They have to balance waking him enough to assist in breathing, without waking him enough for him to panic and try to pull his tube out.
His rash looks the same and they don’t believe it is bacterial or fungal but they do not know what it is. He also has at least one spot on his head now that they think looks like impetigo. He is already on iv antibiotics so they already have it covered but they are adding an antibiotic ointment as well.
He received platelets last night. His white blood count has come up a smidge which is great news on the bone marrow transplant front!
His liver and kidneys remain very sick and his doctors are doing their best to care for them. He still has mucositis but it is improving and hopefully won’t be as painful when he wakes up.
His doctors said ‘he is still very sick but he is moving in the right direction.’ 💚🧡🎗️
