Day 3 Update

Today was another busy day. From noon until after 10 p.m., when I finally got to give Harley a shower, we barely stopped moving.

Today we met with Neurology, Infectious Disease, Nephrology (kidney specialists), Child Life, her EP team, and the Heart Failure team. Harley also had her PICC line placed, an ultrasound of her kidneys and bladder, and by the evening we finally got to move out of the ICU.

We are now on the 11th floor. It feels like our home away from home because we've spent so much time here. We know so many of the doctors and nurses, and they all stop by to visit because Harley is truly loved by everyone.

We still have a lot more testing and specialists to see, but we are making progress and getting things done.

The new medication seems to be helping. Harley is finally getting some of her appetite back. She is still sleeping a lot, but she has lost more fluid weight, which is encouraging. They are continuing to adjust medications, and I'm sure there will be more long days ahead, but we are taking things one step at a time.

One sad reality is that Harley needs to rehome her two guinea pigs indefinitely. If anyone is interested in giving them a loving home, please let us know. We need to find them a new home before Harley is able to come home.

My dear friends Ashlee and Caitlin have started a fundraiser to help support our family during this journey:

Fundraiser: https://www.supportnow.org/the-browning-family-faec870b-9043-4d78-8d8a-62d7085eb8a2

Harley has also created an Amazon wishlist with items that may help make hospital life a little easier:

We appreciate every message, prayer, donation, meal, and act of kindness. We feel the love and support surrounding us every single day. There are simply no words to express how grateful we are for this incredible community standing beside us.

As our situation develops and new needs arise, we will continue to keep everyone updated. We will keep sharing our journey as it unfolds.

We ask for continued prayers for Harley's strength, for wisdom and guidance for her medical team, for successful completion of all the testing still ahead, and for peace as we continue through this heart transplant evaluation journey. We also ask for prayers for our family as we navigate the challenges and unknowns that come with this season.

We love all of you so much. Thank you for walking beside us through this journey.

❤️ Harley, Sylvia, Hubie, Amber, and Gracie
