Day 2 Update ❤️
Today we met with Harley's heart failure team and had a long, two-hour conversation. We discussed what happens before and after being added to the transplant list, what transplant surgery looks like, her first year afterward, and all of the possible complications and challenges that can come along the way.
By the end of the meeting, after asking questions and reviewing everything, we signed the paperwork to move forward. Walking away with a huge binder full of information was overwhelming, but we feel informed, confident, and positive about the road ahead.
Today Harley also began some of her testing, and they were able to remove more excess fluid, which is great news. They started her on some powerful heart medications through her IV to help support her heart while we wait.
Tomorrow she will have a PICC line placed so we won't have to continue working with regular IVs, especially since we know we'll be here for quite a while.
Thank you all for the prayers, messages, and for asking how you can help. We are incredibly grateful for the love and support surrounding our family right now.
Harley is putting together an Amazon wishlist that we will share soon. We are still very early in this process, and while we're sure other needs will arise as we move forward, for now we are holding steady and taking things one day at a time.
Please continue to keep Harley, her medical team, and our family in your prayers. We feel every single one of them. ❤️🙏
