We can’t thank you enough.
Truly.
The love.
The prayers…near and far, from friends, family, and prayer warriors around the world, including those offered from places and people we never met nor could have imagined.
The overwhelming generosity.
The calls.
The texts.
The cards.
The post comments.
The messages from people we haven’t talked to in years but somehow knew exactly when to reach out.
The meals.
The snacks.
The gift cards.
The coffee.
The offers to help.
The help that showed up quietly, without ever needing recognition.

Every single bit of it has mattered more than we could ever properly express. Our family will always be grateful for the way you surrounded us, and especially Chelsea, with so much love.
Right now, life looks pretty simple.
Appointments.
Speech and PT homework.
Daily walks.
Rest.
Routine.

There isn’t anything “big” happening, and honestly, that feels like a gift. Something meaningful is happening, though…we’re finding our way back to a new normal. We understand that this new now will never look exactly like the way things were before…for us or for Chelsea. Traumatic brain injury is a term that will forever be part of our vocabulary, but it will not always be how Chelsea defines herself, nor will it be the headline of her story.
Chelsea continues to progress well, and one of our favorite signs of forward movement has been the full return of her teen personality. The stubbornness? Back. The sass, with accompanying eye‑rolls? Very much present. The sarcasm? Sharp, confident, and exactly on brand. As exhausting as that can sometimes be, seeing those familiar pieces of her again has been one of the most emotional and reassuring parts of this journey.
Physically, she’s doing the steady, not‑so‑glamorous work, like daily walks, building strength, and showing up for physical therapy. She’s also started talking about the things she hopes to get back to, like playing pickleball with friends, riding her bike to the pool, and one day playing softball again. Her medical team feels these are realistic goals to work toward, understanding that progress isn’t linear and that every step forward matters.
As a softball family, we’ve spent years watching Chelsea hustle, shake off hard moments, and keep showing up with determination. She was the team rally leader and now, we are doing that for her. Seeing that same grit of hers show up in a very different setting has reminded us that while the game may look different, the heart behind the effort hasn’t changed.
We are deeply grateful for where she is today and for the professionals, friends, family, and community who continue to support and encourage her along the way.
We’ll share updates here and there if something comes up or if there’s something we want to celebrate related to Chelsea’s future milestones and endeavors. That said, this space won’t be updated regularly as we focus on living life, giving Chelsea the space she needs, and embracing steady, everyday progress.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving our girl and our family so well.
We continue forward with grateful hearts and a lot of faith.💗
With love,
Kara, Mike, Cullen and Chelsea
