Simple. Quiet. Ordinary. And still a lot.
After being away for 40 days, we’re getting reacquainted with our house…opening cabinets, looking in closets, realizing how much we have that we don’t actually need. What once felt important doesn’t anymore. What does matter feels very clear.
There was something comforting about slipping back into normal routines. The grass got cut. The garage got organized. We started decorating for Easter. We grilled steaks. The kind of things that used to happen without thinking now feel like small markers that life is, slowly and unevenly, coming back together.
We also met our neighbors’ brand new baby girl and she’s beautiful. Just a short visit. Enough to stop everything. New life has a way of doing that…of reminding you that the world keeps moving forward, even when you’ve been standing still for a long time.
Inside our walls, we’re learning how to live here again. How to move at a more careful pace. How to pay attention to what costs energy and what gives it back. Progress doesn’t look the way we once imagined it would, but it’s happening in the background, in ways that don’t need explaining to be real.
Healing doesn’t always show up as a big moment. Sometimes it looks like cut grass, a clean garage, a newborn next door, grilled steaks, and the quiet realization that the things that mattered most made it home with us.
Thank you for staying with us through days like this too.💗
PS: Some folks have asked about tomorrow’s Title Boxing fundraiser in Camp Hill, PA, so we wanted to reshare the details from an earlier post with more information. 💥🥊
Thank you all for the continued support…it truly means a lot.
