Chelsea Brem and Family
Today offered a gentler pace and some encouraging moments along the way.
Chelsea had a good night and slept through the entire 7 to 7 shift. Before bedtime, she was able to take a shower, her first in over three weeks. 🚿 We skipped washing her hair, but even that small reset seemed to help her rest more comfortably.
During the day, she drank all three of her high‑protein shakes, ate a little food, including a few bites of Chick-fil-A nuggets (purchased yesterday since today was Sunday!) and spent time sitting in the chair again while we carefully worked more of the remaining EEG adhesive out of her hair. These routines are slow and deliberate, but they matter.
We also took a short “field trip” outside to get some sunshine on this beautiful NC day. Fresh air and a change of scenery were good for all of us. ☀️
The photos in this post capture a few of the quieter details of the day: a simple checklist for Chelsea with boxes crossed off of her weekend “homework” and other tasks, like sit in the chair, drink a shake, go for a ride outside, and smile. These are a reminder that progress often looks like completing small tasks one at a time. There’s also a fortune cookie message we got tonight that reads, “Life’s most memorable moments are often unforeseen,” and a handwritten note reminding us that we’re stepping into March with grateful hearts and brave steps.
Thank you, as always, for the continued support, encouragement, and kindness. We’re taking things one day at a time and are deeply appreciative of everyone walking alongside us.💗
