Chelsea Brem and Family
Today, Chelsea was officially cleared by her neurosurgeon to return to the activities of a typical 16 year old.π
She can go back to school full time, drive, play softball, go to amusement parks, and get back to all the things that make life feel normal. To hear those words after everything she has been through was emotional, to say the least.Β
It has been just shy of six months since the accident changed our lives in an instant. Through every uncertainty, appointment, therapy session, milestone, prayer, text, meal, hug, and word of encouragement, we have felt the love and support of this incredible community. There are truly no words that can fully express our gratitude. Thank you for carrying us through some of our hardest days.Β
While today is a huge milestone, there are still a few things left to navigate. Chelsea is nearing the end of physical therapy and continues to work hard every visit, even between the eye rolls and sweat drips. Speech will continue. She's currently taking Honors Chemistry online this summer and will soon face one of her biggest challenges yetβ¦returning to a full schedule filled with Honors and AP classes. We know she'll tackle it with the same determination and resilience she's shown throughout this journey.Β
In true Chelsea fashion, she is already busy being a teenager again. She's back to babysitting, hanging at the pool, making plans, and counting down the days until she can get behind the wheel and get her driver's license. (And if anyone happens to know of a reliable used vehicle with low mileage, send us a message!)Β
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every prayer, every message, every act of kindness, and every bit of support you've shown our family. We will never forget it. π
And finally, per Chelsea's request, this will be our last SupportNow update. She's ready to move forward, and honestly, that's the best update we could ever share.Β
Here's to healing, hope, second chances, and letting Chelsea be exactly what she's worked so hard to become againβ¦a 16 year old girl with her whole life ahead of her.Β
