Good morning! I had some restful and confortable sleep last night. Pain has not kicked in, YET. I still have some numbness that is keeping the real pain at bay. I did start my pain med last night at bedtime and again this morning . I will stay on it around the clock until its gone. They only gave me a limited amout so no worry of habit forming. I am taking Tylenol as well.
I had an MRI scheduled for my torn ACL for this coming Monday. That is just 3 days after surgery, less than if we are looking at the actual time of each procedure. I am concered about this procedure with my splint and bandages that go up to just an inch or so away from my knee. I realize they can keep the foot (with METAL screws in it now) separated from the knee during the procedure, but will they want to remove my bandages and splint? This is not an option for me. That would be opening it up and putting it at risk of getting an infection. No way, Jose. Not to mention how uncomfortable MRI's can be. I just dont think its the best idea to get it that soon after my surgery. So i have rescheduled the MRI for Sunday Sept 21 and Renee Pearcy will drive us. I have also sent an email to the orthopedic doctor who ordered the MRI expressing my concerns and also to let him know that my pain level in the knee has dropped from 9 to about 4 since I have seen him. Maybe he needs to look at it again before proceeding with the mri considering my pain level and it being rested for the next 10 weeks. 🙏 And then maybr no additional surgery. Please pray that i dont need another surgery. I honestly feel like i wont.
Lastly, my insurance changes on Oct 1st and i will no longer be with Kaiser. Prayers that transition goes smooth and doest delay any care that i need.
