Happy Friday and Labor Day weekend! I hope everyone gets some great downtime and family time. I wish i could be outside.
I saw the ortho today and was told i have a torn alc tendion that needs to have an MRI to see if its still connected to the bone or if its just flapping around. This will determine if i need knee surgery, in addition to the foot surgery. MRI on knee is scheduled for Monday September 8th. He did want to immobilize my knee, amd actually did with a soft brace. I already have a cast up to my knee, a heavy one, and then he wraps nearly my entire leg with this brace that leaves my leg just sticking out there with no support and is kinda painful on the knee. So I took it off and I am just keep my leg on the awesome wedge leg pillow Catherine gave me. If i push it far enough up the back of my thigh, it straightens my leg. But i imagine I will have to sleep with that brace.
My foot surgery is scheduled for this coming Tuesday at 11:40 am. I just got my pre-op call and am all set to go. I'm so scared.
One good thing that I'd like to share is how much the wheelchair ♿️ Catherine has let me borrow really helped me this morning with getting to the parking lot and back to my front door. We do have lots of stiars that i have crawled and hopped up, with much difficulty, a few times already. We can also get to the parking lot without the stairs if we walk around the back of the building. It is dirt, pinestraw, stumps and holes along the way. Not the easiest terrain and was not an option until we got the chair. This morning Lou pushed me around the building and so i only had my stairs just inside my door, which i slid down and back crawled backup.
I am adding a picture of my cat who has been so confused about me and my walker. She watches every step I try to hop, but doesn't approach. Well while I was laying here typing this, she jumped onto bed and came over to me and laid down on my chest. She gave me all the love. Now she's laying next to me at the edge of the bed. She helps me calm down so much.
