7 years!!! It’s taken 7 years to have a dr validate my concern and verify the diagnosis I knew Ava had. Late last year Ava had her major heart surgery. It was risky, only 3 hospitals in the US are willing to do it. I get it- but this is my child’s future & quality of life. A procedure her Cardiologist confirmed she def needed as it was affecting 80% of her esophagus. The surgery was a SUCCESS. We knew that❤️ Today we got the results from her esophageal manometry test results. Previously the past surgical site showed an area of high pressure coorolating with the 80% occlusion from her heart. Basically she had so many fibers and strictures that the first surgery didn’t matter, it was reattached and covered in scar tissue- which I was worried about and told was told wouldn’t happen. But today!! Today her esophagus is 90% better. She does have dysmotility still- things were moving slower than they would like- but given how it was her whole life- I will take it . She’s eating and things are getting stuck or coming back up. 9 years of struggling and being told, she’s fine, stop searching for answers, having dcf called on us twice, to finally be able to say- my baby girl is Thriving❤️ so so thankful for everyone who has stood by and supported us and for answered prayers❤️ we have 2 cat scans scheduled for later this year to confirm the heart has healed properly. But today we celebrate ❤️❤️❤️
