So I just spent about the last hour writing a lengthy, novel-like description of what has been going on with Evan, only to have my phone die, and all of it be lost. Ha! So I’m going to just give the brief summary for those of you who may want to know:
May of this year-
Evan began having abdominal pain, started losing weight
June-August-
more discomfort, had a sonogram, saw spots on the liver, but didn’t think much of it.
Had an endoscopy- inflamed intestines, inconclusive
September-
8- CT scan- found a tumor of the appendix about 6x2”. Doctor says appears to be a rare, serious form of cancer
10-Evan meets with a surgeon who upon seeing the CT scan identifies it as an Appendeceal Mucinious Neoplasm and says they can’t perform surgery for that kind of cancer here, it needs to go to Emory because it usually requires surgery and a “hot chemo wash”. Emory is contacted
11-Evan gets a colonoscopy. The doctor can’t check very far because the jelly like substance has compressed his colon, but what he sees is clear.
17- Evan gets two biopsies of concerning areas. We should have the results Monday and are praying we hear back from Emory and he can be seen for surgery very very soon.
I want to write another post about how gracious God has been during all of this, how grateful we are for the OUTPOURING of love we’ve received, and so many tender mercies of the Lord we’ve experienced already, but it’s late, so I leave you with this factual, rough timeline, thing
