Thank you again for praying, friends. The cancer was even more extensive than we or  the doctors knew. They ended up removing around 30 pounds of tumor and had to remove several organs as well because they were so enveloped in the tumor. He lost his appendix, spleen, his gallbladder, his right colon, transverse colon, and most of his stomach. He will have to have an ostomy bag and learn to live with only a small portion of stomach.
They can’t promise all the cancer was removed, but that is the hope, and he will be monitored for any growth.

Psalm 34 has come to my rescue today:
v4-I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
 6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
 7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
 9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him...
17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
 18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Love to all of you. I wish I knew what to say. Please let me thank Evan again for his encouragement over the years, especially 2020 (COVID) and 2022 (the strange year of my father's passing away). Thank you Evan, and thanks Jamie, for your enthusiastic personality. You bring that every Sunday.

We continue to pray and lift you all up before the Lord. My words are inadequate. Ps 112:6-8 For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm trusting in the Lord. His heart is steady, he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. This is not what we hoped for, but Our God is able. We love you all.

My last comment was supposed to be “on my mind”, my heart, and in my prayers. Voice texting is easy, but often not accurate!

The Cruses continue to be in prayer. A setback for you all, but not for the Lord. Indeed, only a step forward to his perfect plan for the Gear family.

Heidelberg Q & A 26
Q. What do you believe when you say,
“I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth”?
A. That the eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who out of nothing created heaven and earth and everything in them, who still upholds and rules them by his eternal counsel and providence, is my God and Father because of Christ the Son. I trust God so much that I do not doubt he will provide whatever I need for body and soul, and will turn to my good whatever adversity he sends upon me in this sad world. God is able to do this because he is almighty God and desires to do this because he is a faithful Father.

My heart aches for you dear friends. We are praying for you constantly.

"I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
3    He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5    The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7    The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
