Teddie’s Journey To A Cure

The past couple days have been quiet ones for our girl — slow, sleepy, and full of rest. Teddie’s fever is still coming and going, and the nausea continues to hang on. She’s been sleeping most of the time, only waking for short stretches here and there. We know her little body is working incredibly hard right now, and we’re thankful she’s able to rest when she needs it most. 💛

Her team increased her continuous nausea meds to help keep things more manageable. While she doesn’t have visible mouth sores, they believe there may be some mucositis in her GI tract, which can be pretty uncomfortable — so staying ahead of symptoms is the goal.

We haven’t seen full signs of engraftment yet, but that’s not unexpected. It typically happens between Days +10 and +20, and sometimes even a little later for younger kiddos like Teddie. One hopeful sign: her ANC (the infection-fighting white blood cells) crept up ever so slightly today. It’s a small movement, but it may be a first hint that her new marrow is beginning to “wake up.” ✨

Another small victory: her latest blood cultures have shown no new growth for over 24 hours, and they’ll keep monitoring a few more days to be sure. 🙌 We’ll take every bit of good news as it comes.

We also want to ask for prayers for our neighbor and transplant buddy, Jayce. He’s around the same post-transplant stage and facing some tough side effects. Please lift him and his family up alongside ours — this journey is one no child should walk alone.

💙 And today, on Father’s Day, we just want to say how thankful we are for Nick. He’s been a steady hand and strong heart through every high and low — full of love, humor, patience, and so much grace. This season has demanded more than we ever expected, and he’s met every moment with quiet strength and deep devotion.

As always, thank you for surrounding us with love, prayers, and support. These quiet, in-between days are often the hardest — but we believe healing is happening, even when we can’t see it. One day closer.

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”
— Isaiah 40:30–31

I’m just at a loss of words for what to say that might bring you comfort. I just can’t imagine the pain you are going through. Just know you, Nick, and Teddie are never far from my mind. I saw Neil last Thursday at an IGN basketball game and he said you have been a rock through this. Sending you love.
