Teddie’s Journey To A Cure
Where We Are
Teddie has had a decent week. She began chemotherapy to help maintain remission while we prepare for transplant. It’s been tough on her stomach, especially at first, but we’re so thankful to see her beginning to eat more again.
The next few weeks are packed with appointments, tests, and procedures. Today we met with the ROC team at UAMS to review what’s ahead. One of the big steps will be four days of radiation therapy—two sessions a day. It’s a low dose, but it’s still a lot to take in. Today came with a flood of information, and while it’s hard to process everything, we are holding tightly to our faith and trusting that this is the path to Teddie’s cure.
What’s to Come
Teddie will be having a CT scan, a chemo with bone marrow aspirate, and an eval for kidney function next week. We’ll be heading to St. Louis on the 18th to meet the specialist performing Teddie’s fertility preservation procedure. She’ll have consultations on the 19th and her procedure will be on the 20th. We’re praying for a smooth experience, positive results, and minimal discomfort for our girl. We also got the green light from her oncologist to visit the zoo while we’re there and Teddie is so excited!
What We’re Praying For
• That Teddie’s strength and appetite continue to grow so she’s ready for the upcoming procedure.
• For her incredible donor, as he prepares for his own procedure on the 22nd.
• Safe travels to and from St. Louis and wisdom for her medical team there.
• Positive results from upcoming evaluations
• And most of all, that Teddie stays in remission
Thank you for continuing to walk beside us in hope, love, and prayer.
