Today I finished the 5 sessions of radiation to my spine. Starting on Tuesday I was feeling achy and painful from my back down my left leg. This was not a side effect I was expecting. I’ve been using Ibuprofen/Tylenol and heat. While these things do help, it’s been difficult to sleep as I have a hard time getting comfortable. Pain, lack of sleep, and the radiation fatigue is starting to make me crabby! I’m really hoping that the radiation kicks in and squashes the cancer that must be irritating a nerve. In the meantime, my doctor has given me something stronger for bedtime today so hopefully I can get some rest.
I also unexpectedly learned today that I am starting chemo Monday, July 22nd instead of August 5th. I guess I was on an appointment waitlist and now I’m scheduled. Things are getting real over here! I am pretty nervous to get started, hopefully it won’t kick my butt too bad. But at the same time, I am glad because this means we’re gonna start killing the cancer sooner. I could use some positive thoughts and prayers for Monday!
Thank you friends and family!
