Aug 10- 13th Updates

From Organizer Nekei: Thank you so much to all the donors. All donations she is extremely grateful. If you choose to do a bigger amount to wiring instructions to Suni directly can be assisted. Medical expenses are about $30K and are required to be paid in advance. $5K I have added for food, rent support, and rehab once completed with surgery support. Some Updates
8/10 Overall:

Stable / Improving / No Change / Concern: Improving, but all staff need to be on top of Suni’s care, and surgery AS A PRIORITY!

SHE’S IN A PRIVATE ROOM NOW

Pain/Comfort:

Pain is controlled, increased with movement.

Eating/Drinking:

Appetite is moderate, but nutrition is strongly encouraged. Please make sure that Sunny eats, and gets plenty of protein.

Alert/Communicating:

Report that is far more alert than previous days. Has not slept, and hopefully will sleep through the night

Mobility/Activity:

Both legs have been stabilized with Splints. Movement is easier with this stabilization.

DOCTOR/NURSE UPDATE:

What we were told: The cardiologist has cleared Suni, pending tonights  transfusion/hemoglobin results. Anesthesiologist, nor Surgeon have scheduled surgery. The hope is that the surgery will be performed at some point tomorrow. Pending hemoglobin count.

Tests/procedures completed:

Labs tonight - pre surgical testing and thorough check of WBC in case of infection, related to new pressure wounds

Surgery/treatment update: 

Survey possibly Tuesday.

Skin on both legs needs to be checked minimum once daily. New dressings have been placed on the left inner leg, left outer calf, and right big toe. No wound care instructions have been ordered, however, daily checks should be a priority. Check with NURSING to find out if orders have been placed for wound care. Currently they are depending on the Surgeon to issue wound care orders.

Next step/timing: 

lab review, in the morning. Visit from anesthesiologist, and prayerfully surgery.

NEW CHANGES OR CONCERNS:

New pressure wounds on both legs. Ensure that her legs are repositioned at least every two hours. She is able to assist with this, but needs reminders. While she is awake, encourage her to move the microphone legs.

PATIENT NEEDS:

Hydration, increased nutrition, wound care, headphones with a C charger. Also, hair products, and a satin scarf or satin cap. Sandy may be able to retrieve these items for her. However, If you purchase these items, please let the group know. Check with Suni first on product needs!

Next update expected: 

Tuesday 8/11 after anesthesiology and Surgeon.

Recovery: 

* Suni's received PT instructions yesterday on how to exercise the limbs   

* Blood pressure was lowered & stabilized last night (Keep meditating)

* Nurse said last night she needed 1 more blood transfusion for recovery

* She needs to *eat*, particularly calcium-rich and protein foods. She loved the soto ayam someone made for her

Legal:

* Police is coming for her statement late this morning

P.S. Flowers are not allowed in the hospital
