Doing BIG things!!

Stemcells for Birdie

Yesterday for the first time Birdie sat independently in the swing at the park! This is remarkable. Just days before we went to Arizona for stem cells, I met a friend at the park and tried to put Birdie in the same swing. Birdie could not hold herself up but her head fell forward and her core was not strong enough to hold her body up. She fell sideways and melted down inside the little swing bucket. When I propped her up and she regained some balance she fell forward resting her head on the front of the swing. But yesterday she sat upright holding herself up and had great head control. She hung out laughing with gentle pushes back and forth for almost 10 minutes!! This is amazing. It feels so monumental because it was just a simple typical thing. We were just at the park as a family and she just sat in the swing. Just like that. I have been crushed by how difficult seemingly “easy” or “simple” tasks are actually really difficult for Birdie. This feels monumental because it is monumental. It’s the first just typical activity Birdie has done on a typical family outing. I am so proud of her. It has been hours and hours of therapy, therapy intensives, stem cell therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and endless prayer. God’s faithfulness is without limits. Thank you for cheering on our girl! She is doing BIG things!!

So beautiful!! Praising God! He is SO good! He’s answering prayer, and He will continue to! It just blesses me to think of the joy Birdie felt getting to swing! Thank you, Lord, for that sweet moment for Birdie and for the encouragement you’ve also brought to Lexi!

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” - Matthew 7:11
