Update on Mom/ Starr:
Hi everyone, We are writing to share an important update on Mom’s journey. It has been a little while since her surgery, and we want to start by saying a massive thank you. Your generosity during the surgery phase kept our heads above water, and we are endlessly grateful for you precious folks.
Mom is now preparing for her next big hurdle. She is starting 6 weeks of daily radiation treatments, alongside intensive physical therapy to regain movement in her shoulder.
As we enter this phase, the financial pressure has increased significantly. Because she doesn't have traditional insurance, it functions on a reimbursement basis. This means Mom is currently considered uninsured/self-pay up front.
They are required to pay massive out-of-pocket costs at the time of care before any insurance money can potentially be paid back later.
They are actively working with the hospital's financial aid department to find solutions, reduce costs, and set up assistance programs. However, the immediate, upfront bills for 6 weeks of daily treatments and physical therapy are incredibly heavy.
We are in no way asking those who've already generously donated to give more. We are so humbled by those who've given. But if you are able to contribute to this registry, your funds will go directly toward:
- Upfront medical payments required by the hospital for daily radiation.
- Physical therapy copays and self-pay fees for her shoulder rehabilitation.
If you cannot donate right now, or if you have already donated, sharing this link with others or keeping Mom in your prayers means just as much to us.
Thank you for walking alongside us through this second round. We could not do this without God's people.
All our love and thanks,
Phil, Sarah, and Hannah
