It's so hard to know what to put in these updates, because we are still very much in the early days of life with this diagnosis. It feels like we've been dealing with this for ages, but today marks only the two month mark.
Some of you may know that because the outcomes with conventional treatment methods weren't what I'd call promising, we decided to see what other options for battling this might be out there.
And by "we", I absolutely mean Andrew. He barely slept for weeks as he scoured the internet, hunted down resources, and reached out to contact people across the US, and even in other countries, to find any information that could lead us to finding possible ways to fight this cancer and, Lord willing, win.
Pieces started to fall into place, and we were put in contact with a Dr. who made no promises, but did give us some hope. And hope is everything to us right now.
So, I'm currently getting treatments out of state, but it will be a bit before the labs will be able to tell us if we're moving the needle in the right direction.
In the meantime, I've had to completely overhaul my diet to support my body in the best possible ways for healing. I've gone from being the girl who did good to eat a few baby carrots each day as her vegetable intake (fries don't count, right?) to eating a fully vegetarian diet--mostly raw, and a lot of green juices to flood my body with nutrients.
I'm happy to report that between the treatments and the diet changes, I've had good strength and energy, which is a God send!
So again, I say thank you. We are truly walking this journey together, and your prayers and support are making what could be a very dark time into a time of blessing, love, and light. I love you all, even if haven't met yet! :)
Take care, be blessed, and keep us in your prayers--and I'll keep you in mine.
