Anxiety...Hope...Terror...Anticipation 
These are just a few of the words that are the most pressing of the emotions that fill what today holds. Squishy Boy was injured by a local hospital three years ago due to a medical error. This resulted in him losing the potential to be a surgical candidate. The pressure of knowing that being put under for any reason would result in a tracheostomy as the best outcome has been overwhelming. He has needed to have the plates in his hips, that were placed when he was 4, removed, but this was simply not possible due to the fragility of his airway. Squishy Boy has grown, and he's become stronger. The plates in his hips have begun limiting his range of motion, causing discomfort, and resulting in difficulty with walking in his Trexo. The very thing that has built his strength, is now becoming more and more difficult, more painful and more taxing. But today, he has an appointment with his orthopedic surgeon, who sees Squishy Boy as his poster child patient. The surgeon feels that he may be ready for surgery at this time due to his growth and the progress in his strength. The anesthesiologist agrees that he is now a candidate for surgery, without the extreme fear of trach or death! What a full circle we have come to reach this day! The anxiety, hope, terror and anticipation still loom, but God...He holds this boy....He holds this decision...He holds his past, his present, and his future...He holds it all!
