Update as of March 11. We had a meeting with Shelton’s neuro oncologist today after his MRI last week. His disease is starting to progress more quickly (he didn’t know who I was today, thought we had sold our house and needed to move out, fell asleep while with the doctor, has started falling again and is sleeping about 20 hours a day). We are discontinuing chemotherapy immediately and entering palliative care. He will do avastin infusions for the next month to see if that helps with swelling but for the best quality of life for the weeks he has left, we are stopping chemotherapy altogether. We will transition from palliative care to hospice once they stop the Avastin treatments. The doctor thinks he has weeks left and we want him to have quality during that time. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and support over this last year. It has made our journey a little easier knowing we are surrounded by love for him.
