✨Cycle #2✨
Sara and the Johney Family
Well we made it to the second cycle! My mom accompanied me to Yale this week and the weather is definitely changing. We enjoyed seeing some beautiful red trees and tried out a new, beautiful hotel with a water view. We highly recommend the Hilton Tapestry Series and enjoyed voting for the pumpkin competition!
Infusion day started off with a visit to one of the clinic doctors who recommended decreasing the medication dose by 25% in addition to twice a week IV fluid hydration to help prevent another hospitalization. She also wants me to increase my protein intake and add electrolytes as well. We really liked her and she kept saying how much of a fighter I am!
We headed upstairs to infusion and encountered the creepiest eel ever in their large fish tank. I was brought back and had one of my favorite nurses for the day, Megan. We were sad to find out that she is a travel nurse and is moving to Wyoming with her fiancé next week. My labs were great this week and we proceeded with the treatment. Everything went well and I was surprisingly not too tired.
We left around 1:30pm and due to the location of our hotel, we headed for IKEA! The store was directly next to an IKEA and I had to show my mom the iconic Swedish meatballs. After our little shopping trip, we headed back and I slept…and slept and slept. We did do a little crafting with diamond painting in between my naps! Haha
Our trip home was easy and I’m feeling good so far. I’m fatigued but no other symptoms yet! Next treatment is next week with my cousin! Thank you again for everything! The prayers are keeping me positive and hopeful!
