This week at Yale, I was accompanied by my best friend Kathryn Stadig Minchella! We met on the Amtrak and finally had some much needed girl time.
๐Tuesdayโs infusion was much quicker! I have developed the anticipated side effects (fatigue, diarrhea, dry hands, cough, mild nausea, and neutropenia) ๏ฟผso I was seen by the PA prior to starting the medication. My labs were a little off too as my white blood cell count dropped significantly (expected but quicker than usual) and my potassium was low. Despite this, I was cleared for treatment and everything went well. This time the medication only ran for one hour so we were finished by 2 PM, which was great. Due to my pre-medicationโs, I was pretty sleepy, but it was nice to get out early so Katie and I could head back to the hotel and explore the shops nearby. And when I say shops, we are talking about the dollar tree and Hobby lobby lol. It was so much fun and we finished the night with a movie which I fell asleep during.ย
๐We are on our way back now and weโve had a wonderful time together. I am again so thankful for everyone who has helped in so many ways. From Prayers, donations, support with Charlotte, and even trips up to Connecticut. I am so blessed by the tribe I have in my friends and family. Believe me, I tell everyone I meet how lucky I am!ย
