On behalf of our whole family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your extravagant generosity. We are overwhelmed by the support we have received through this page and we are deeply humbled that so many of you, from dear friends to strangers, would give to help make a way for the best possible care for our girl.

We wanted to share some updates and specific ways you can pray for us in the coming weeks.

KJ continues to make small progress weekly with all of her outpatient therapies. She is slowly regaining her strength and as of this week has officially gained back all the weight she had lost. Although she still has a long road with maintaining her nutrition we are incredibly thankful for this progress. For the last 5 months KJ has needed either an NG or NJ (face) tube to help meet her nutritional needs. At this time it’s been decided by her team that a more permanent option like a g-tube is needed. Even though this is a more invasive measure it will relieve the constant irritation she experiences on her face and down her throat. This will happen sometime in the first few weeks of September.

Here are some specific ways you can pray:

  • Pray for her UF Health team, specifically for timing and ease with the upcoming g - tube surgery and for no further medical complications.

  • Pray for the ability to get to Minnesota as soon as possible once that procedure is completed and for an effective week of treatment with her functional neurologist, Dr. A - who counties to be an incredible support to us.

  • Pray for further diagnostic clarity to come from recent genetic testing.

  • Pray for a round table review by a team of excellent out of state functional medical doctors who will be reviewing KJ’s case on Sep 4th and offering their expertise.

  • Lastly, for open doors and wisdom for Chad I as we consider and compare several pain rehabilitation programs and clinics in and out of state.

In the world of chronic illness it’s really all about the layers, timing, choosing to do things in the right order and blending multiple avenues of medicine. This can obviously be so hard because we want to do all the things at once and quickly, however we are remaining confident that the Lord is directing our steps and opening wide the best doors for KJ.

We continue to see the Lord moving on behalf of our girl and although we long for full and complete healing we remain committed to trusting His heart in the waiting. Just last weekend we walked out of the house to find a beautiful rainbow directly over our home - a sweet reminder of God’s tender faithfulness.

Thank you for linking arms with us. Your kindness has made a way for for us to see His goodness - even through weary eyes.

Amber and family.
