We wanted to share an update on Richard and thank everyone for the love, prayers, visits, meals, messages, and support. It was wonderful to share so many memories and see everyone!

Over the past few days, Richard’s condition has continued to decline. Hospice is now helping us keep him comfortable and peaceful. Friday evening, we started his comfort medications, and Saturday he needed oxygen for a while. Hospice has also placed a catheter to help keep him more comfortable.

He has been sleeping most of the weekend and, thankfully, does not seem to be in pain. He did have a few brief moments where he was awake, and we were able to tell him about everyone who came by to see him. That meant a lot to us, and we believe it meant a lot to him too.

Right now, our focus is keeping Richard calm, comfortable, and surrounded by love. We are taking things moment by moment.

Thank you again to everyone who has shown up for Richard and our family. Your prayers, visits, meals, stories, and support have meant more than you know. Please continue to keep Richard, Mom, Dad, and all of us in your prayers.
