Our shoe fundraiser has officially come to an end… and I’m still wrapping my head around what God allowed to happen. 

This week, the truck came and picked up close to 8,000 pairs of shoes. 

Eight. Thousand. Pairs. 

 

Those shoes are now on their way to developing countries, where they’ll be given to micro-entrepreneurs to sell—helping families build income, provide for their children, and create opportunity. What started as “cleaning out closets” turned into something that will bless families all over the world… while also helping bring Renna one step closer to her service dog through 4 Paws For Ability. 

 

This fundraiser was never just about shoes. 

It became about community. 

About people showing up. 

About strangers turning into supporters. 

About businesses opening their doors. 

About friends, churches, schools, therapists, neighbors, and total strangers saying, “Yes, we’ll help.” 

 

There are truly too many people to tag. But please know this: 

Whether you donated shoes, hosted a bin, shared a post, helped load bags, prayed, encouraged me when I was exhausted, or spoke Renna’s name in a room she wasn’t in… you were part of this. 

As Renna’s mom, this season has meant more to me than I can put into words. Renna has complex needs, is non-speaking, and requires constant support. A service dog will one day help with her safety, independence, regulation, and daily life. Watching hundreds of people rally around her—many who have never even met her—has been incredibly humbling and deeply emotional. 

While the shoe drive has ended, Renna’s journey is far from over. 

We are still actively fundraising and walking toward the day she meets her service dog.
