The past few weeks have been a whirlwind for Sophie—chemo treatments, a much-needed break, plenty of Lilo & Stitch, painting sessions, blood transfusions, and stretches of low white blood cell counts that kept her from swimming or venturing out.
Through it all, she’s handled everything with such strength. And this week brought a beautiful milestone: Sophie finally made it to the pool and got to enjoy a carefree summer day—no wheelchair, no walker—just the joy of being in the water like any other kid. These little glimpses of normal life mean the world to her.
Today, she heads back to the hospital for another round of chemo. She’s not excited—she’s ready to be done and back in the pool—but she knows she’s getting close. Just a few more months to go.
To help her stay encouraged, Sophie started a prayer chain—her way of remembering that God is right beside her and that the finish line is in sight. And on July 3rd, she’ll reach another huge step: she’ll be able to put weight on her leg for the first time since December.
Sophie still needs a lot of prayer—especially now, being so close to the end, yet not quite there. Please join us in praying for her strength, her healing, and more of those sweet, everyday moments that bring her joy. It’s been a long road, but we’re hopeful the last stretch will pass quickly and gently.
