We Ask for Help for Our 3-Year-Old's Medical Needs

Our daughter Penelope is not feeling better yet. We are at Children's Mercy in Kansas City, Missouri, hoping things improve. Right now, she is not eating well and losing weight. The doctors are doing more tests to figure out how to help her. We want to take her to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, but our insurance won't cover it. We need help with paying the first bills and getting to Minnesota. We live in Kansas and have three other kids. Anything helps, even a little bit. We even started a savings account just for her medical expenses. 

We asked friends, family, and work buddies for help, too. We heard good things and are talking to more groups and hospitals. Your support is so important as we find ways to better control Penelope’s pain and discomfort. Also as we navigate our home life and other three children a few hours away.
