Paxman's Surgery Support
Been a bit since an update. It's late so I'll try to condense -
He has a AKI ( Acute Kidney Injury) due to all the diuretics used to try and dry up his effusion
His 3rd chest tube was placed last Thursday, cath was last Friday ( the day of the outage !)
Cath showed increased Fontan pressures, but not so high that we are doing anything physically to him yet. Tried a new medication to help his heart deal with these and unfortunately we had to come back off because his blood pressure kept dropping and his renal numbers increased.
Plan this week is to keep his kidneys happy. We will be doing things very very slow in anticipation of his kidneys hopefully healing to a more "normal" degree.
At some point we hope to hear back from CHOP and see if they see anything that we are missing or they think might benefit him.
Please pray that his kidneys can return to a better place and his chest tube remains in. He is on higher flow nasal cannula currently to help keep his lungs open while he can't be on a ton of diuretics.
Tomorrow is bath / PICC change day.
