Moving Mountains For Millie
I was just thinking back to a phone call we got while on hospice that I'm not sure we've shared with anyone!
Millie was newly on hospice, maybe a month or so? We have a nurse friend who had a Doctor friend from another hospital. She asked if he'd talk with us! When he called, he said, I'm not calling as a medical professional, I'm calling like a brother.
He knew of Millie's diagnosis but that was about it. He said something along the lines of, When your daughter is born, enjoy every minute with her, her life will be very short if she's even born alive. He continued with explaining more about what Alobar Holoprosencephaly is. to which we replied.... wait? Millie's 4 months old? He was incredibly shocked and just continued to tell us to value and treasure each and every day with her! I'd say we do that!
