I received the email on August 29, 2025. It was a few days after the official lottery.
"You are selected for the HURT100!"
Any relief I felt was quickly replaced by a wave of fear.

- 100 grueling miles of rocks, roots, and mud.
- 26,000 feet of vertical gain (and decent).
- 30+ hours of effort, without sleep.
What did I get myself into?!
I fired off a text to my coach, "I’m nervous."

Those words steeled my resolve. Take. Everything. You. Have.
It's going to take everything I have?
Good! How else does one discover what they're made of? Most people go their entire lives without testing the limits of their body, their minds, and their resolve.
The HURT100 is my chance to take inventory of everything I have.
