 Hey Healing Village,

This update is from me. :) I’ve learned to follow the inspiration and the guidance, and I felt a strong nudge to reach out to you directly.

It’s Sunday and I’ve spent the morning immersed in my quiet time. I’m a few days away from entering the hospital for the stem cell transplant (7/31/24) and I am doing what I can to fortify my mind, body and spirit, as God’s perfect grace rises to meet me.

Overall, I’m feeling good. Adjusting to changes in my body has been its own journey, but I recognize that it’s all a part of becoming this new being that God is molding and crafting me into.

This morning, I saw a post on Facebook that felt most relevant and divinely inspired. The subject was, “Your New Look” and it was a short poem by Rupi Kaur that read, “I will never have this version of me again, let me slow down and be with her.”

Yep, transformation is afoot and though I’m no longer the Monica Moody I was six months ago, or even yesterday, I know that God is cultivating a more beautiful and brilliant me.

A quote sent to me by my dear friend, Kristen:

“Beware of harking back to what you once were, when God wants you to be something you have never been.” – Oswald Chambers

May we all learn to surrender to it.

And so, I just wanted to pop in to share my heart with you for just a moment.

What I most want you to know is this journey has been marked by miracles and grounded in grace. And I’m not sure if I could ever adequately catalogue all the majestic and magical “God moments” that I have experienced.

THANK YOU for being a part of that.

Your perfectly timed messages, your cards, your donations, your gifts, your presence, and most importantly, your love and prayers, have carried me. And I am grateful for each one of you.

I also want to thank you for pouring your wisdom into me as a means of encouraging me. I’ve learned that though our paths may look very different, our unique challenges hit in similar ways and every journey is about becoming who God is calling us to be.

The attached pic is the photo tree that my family helped prepare for my hospital room. It’s filled with some of my favorite pics and affirmations. 😊

I have about 20 affirmations that I constantly reflect on, and I wanted to share a few with you.  May they serve you as powerfully as they serve me:

“All is well.”

"I am divinely cared for and things are always working out for me."

“I choose peace; therefore, it is.”

“Favor follows me.”

“I am sustained.”

“My path is unique to me.”

“Out of this situation only good will come. And I am safe.”

“I have everything I need and more to journey well and thrive.”

"For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but power, love and a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

“Ease and grace are my birthright.”

“Wherever I am, God is.”

I love you. I appreciate you. And I thank you for being a part of my healing village.

And a special thank you to Willis, Taylor and Sydni. You are my heart’s delight, and I am beyond grateful for you.

Love you Healing Village Peeps!

Monica
