Hello Everyone!
Our little support page has fizzled out a bit, as we're in touch with many of you in other ways. BUT we have been so blessed with support from so many in this healing village, that I wanted to share a recent update here as well.
Yesterday, I met with my Emory doc to review the results of my recent bone marrow biopsy, PET scan and labs and to learn my level of remission.
The result?
We were told that there were NO signs of myeloma cells, indicating a best case for remission.
In about a year, there's one additional marker they'll take a look at, but this is fantastic news.
Soon I'll start on phase 3 of treatment, which will include taking a low dose chemo drug and getting monthly treatments to strengthen my bones.
Again, I wanted to stop by here to thank YOU for ALL of your love and support with getting me to this point. I could never adequately convey what you've meant to me.
Before my appointment yesterday, I shared a post on social media and wanted to share it here as well:

The Power of Reprieve – That’s Grace
Today, I’m leaning into this truth as I prepare for a significant moment in my healing journey. I’ll receive the results from my bone marrow biopsy and PET scan, which will reveal my level of remission -- and my doctor will outline the recommended maintenance plan—likely involving a low-dose chemotherapy drug.
Though I’ve maintained a great sense of peace moving towards this date, I realize that I also wish I was just done, with the whole of the experience and the year behind me. And yet I’m grateful that these past few weeks have been such a gift – a magnificent reprieve.
Minimal medications, boundless energy, daily walks that ground me, and the greatest blessing of all—I feel amazing. Better than new.
Reprieves are the space of grace.
They are sacred pauses that allow us to catch our breath, regain our senses, and remember the sweet magnitude of the divine power that resides within.
Even at the toughest parts of my journey, I was prayerful for and mindful of the reprieves. Sometimes that space of grace may have been as fleeting as 5 minutes, when my body would settle down enough for me to rest, in the absence of some form of suffering, for just a few.
Felt like gold.
And in those moments, I would regain just enough strength to keep going.
So yes, these last several weeks have felt like heaven – and I’m so grateful.
And I will trust that this next phase of the journey will be marked by more beauty and grace.
So, my friend, when those moments of reprieve come—whether for weeks, hours, or just minutes—pause. Acknowledge them as sacred gifts and savor those deep pockets of mercy as the powerful life-giving blessings that they are.
Love you Healing Village! -- Monica :)
