day 21 post transplant

We’re in clinic today. 

Avrys heart rate has been high the past 2 days. Today she got another dose of G-CSF.  (The white blood cell stimulant) (I don’t like when she gets this because it always makes her more pain) She also got platelets today. Its week three post transplant when we are seeing her numbers rise on their own. This means bone marrow engraftment is taking and we’re waiting for the other cells to join and reproduce more of the goodness!!! It’s exciting! And hard work for her little body. Dr Mian is  pleased. 

He also stressed the importance of bubble wrapping her! Covid is wrecking havoc on these cancer patients here in the hospital and the clinic. If she catches a virus- it would be devastating to her new cells and push off 2nd transplant. We need that 2nd transplant on time!! Because as rapidly as these new cells are dividing, any residual cancer cells are dividing at a much faster speed! We have to be more aggressive than the cancer! 

 We thought today’s appointment would be an hour or so but it turned into- all day. Clinic days are so exhausting! 

We are in a high pressure isolation room and I’m so glad Jake is here!! 

Her heart rate is high and her temp is elevated. Please pray she’s not cranking  a fever and that we can go home tonight!!!! 🙏🙏🙏
