Scan Results

We didn’t get the news we hoped for this morning.

All of her scans came back clear except one.

There is a new spot on the top of her skull that needs further testing that has been deemed inconclusive.

Dr Wells ordered an urgent MRI. We haven’t heard the date for it yet. We expect a call today from Dr Wells.

Dr Wells told us it may be a false positive. He also said it may be the early stages of relapse. This is the most common spot for relapse.

We have a trip to the mountains planned for the end of the week. Dr Wells said we will schedule around it because it is important we go and love our family.

I asked what his gut hunch is? He said he’s about 50/50 with it.

We are numb.

Avry Jo is singing her heart out. Christmas songs. Sweet as can be.

We’re not letting on about our concern to the children. There is no reason to place a burden on their hearts before we know more. So we’ll keep smiling. We’ll laugh, play, and make memories. We’ll choose joy in the middle of the unknown, trusting that our children deserve the security of simply being children. And when the weight becomes too much to carry, we’ll let ourselves fall apart—but only in the quiet, private moments where little eyes aren’t watching and little hearts aren’t absorbing.

I'm praying and believing with you that this is a false positive and there is no reason for concern in what they are seeing. Praying for peace for each of you and a relaxing and lovely time away.

I hate this more than anything. Why beautiful little girls and boys have to go through this is something I don't understand. I only pray there is a cure one day. I've followed since day one and just hoped scans would be good. Praying that it's a false positive. Keeping your family especially you as a mom in prayer. Love you guys even though we've never met.

My mom had been told by the doctors that she had cancer in her lungs, etc., but it turned out well in the end. Praying that the spot of concern is benign and that your trip will be a time of rest and full of little surprises from God!

You don't know me, but unfortunately we have walked the pediatric cancer path also. I just want to say we had a very similar scenerio you are walking through right now. I know the gut wrenching feelings. But also believing God. We never found out exactly the reasons why her test results were abnormal but I am grateful to say she has been cancer free for almost 2 years. I pray it is the same for you!!
